Summary

As the senior population - persons 65 years or older - continues to increase, so too do the chances for seniors to become victims of abuse and/or self-neglect. According to some reports, between 1 and 2 million Americans 65 or older have been the victims of some form of abuse. And even these estimates may be low. Some experts believe that only one in 14 cases of abuse actually gets reported.
