TYLA Diversity Scholarship

TYLA has a steadfast commitment to diversity and inclusion in the legal profession. To promote diversity in the legal profession TYLA annually sponsors the Diversity Scholarship Program.

All law students attending a Texas law school are eligible to apply for the Diversity Scholarship. TYLA will award three scholarships: $5,000 for first place, $3,000 for second place, and $1,500 for third place.  In awarding the Diversity Scholarships, TYLA will consider an applicant’s resume, response to the essay questions in the application, letter(s) of recommendation, demonstrated commitment to diversity, academic performance, and financial need. 

An application to apply can be downloaded here or from the TYLA website.  Applications to apply can also be obtained at the law school financial aid office or by contacting your State Bar of Texas Law Student Representative on campus.

The deadline to apply for the Diversity Scholarship is October 20, 2017. All applications must be postmarked or emailed by this date.  The completed application should be mailed or emailed to the following:
