Cookout and Connect
By:  Tyler Topper

The Amarillo Area Young Lawyers Association recently held a Cookout and Connect event at a local park. The event was promoted as part of an AAYLA membership drive, as well as an opportunity for young lawyers and their families to come to a family oriented event where they could connect with other young lawyers and their families.

There were a number of inflatable games for kids (e.g., bounce houses, basketball, etc.), and AAYLA members grilled hamburgers and hot dogs for the 50-plus people in attendance. To complete the evening, we had an outdoor screening of Disney’s Beauty and the Beast (2017) after dark.

The event was a great success, and many AAYLA members expressed their appreciation for the opportunity to bring their kids. The event was generously funded in large part by a TYLA grant, and we are very thankful to TYLA for helping us put on this great event.
